May 7th is National Bike to School Day

The Northfield/Crescent Safety Committee of the St. John's Community Association reminds everyone that it is "National Bike to School Day" tomorrow, May 7. Please be mindful of our children, parents and teachers as they pedal to school. Please support our cyclists for this active, healthy and environmentally friendly choice by driving slowly and alertly and by following these guidelines from the U.S. Department of Transportation: 1) Share the road with bicyclists. 2) Be courteous – allow at least three feet clearance when passing a bicyclist on the road, look for cyclists before opening a car door or pulling out from a parking space, and yield to cyclists at intersections and as directed by signs and signals. 3) Be especially watchful for cyclists when making turns, either left or right. Dunloggin Middle School arrival is 7:15-7:40 am; dismissal is 2:15-2:45 pm; Northfield Elementary School arrival is 8:15-8:40 am, dismissal is 3:15-3:45 pm. Thank you!
